Classical Voice of North Carolina

Classical Voice of North Carolina, Inc. (CVNC), an online performing arts journal (www.cvnc.org) based in central North Carolina, provides extensive calendars and insightful reviews of performances of classical music, opera, dance, and theatrical performances. Our mission is to inform residents and visitors about the incredibly broad spectrum of performances throughout our state. We exist to serve those who share our belief that the performing arts are an integral part of life and cannot thrive unless the community knows what is available and what effect the performances have on audiences. In recent years the sources for such information have been dwindling — just when the offerings and their quality have risen significantly!

CVNC has been committed to providing coverage of North Carolina performing arts since 2001. Our calendars, reviews, features, news, and links have never been more important as we meet this need. CVNC works in partnership with a wide array of regional performing and presenting artists — ensembles at high schools and colleges, recitalists, small volunteer and amateur groups, local professional groups, and visiting artists and groups. We feel a special duty to report on the work of community organizations which receive little or no coverage in the print media. More than 500 artists in over 50 counties throughout North Carolina have facilitated this coverage as last year they sent us 2,650 unique events to post in our calendars and welcomed our writers to critique their work.
